Distance Education

UNM Statewide programs offer students throughout New Mexico and beyond the opportunity to achieve a degree from UNM without the need to leave their own community. Degree completion programs are available in many academic fields. Find the center closest to you and we will be glad to help with your program exploration and curriculum planning.  For more information about UNM bachelor and graduate degree programs available statewide, please visit http://statewide.unm.edu.

Online Courses

UNM Online offers students the option of taking courses to meet academic goals while bringing flexibility to their daily schedule. UNM Online courses are taught by UNM faculty, and count for the same credit and appear on a transcript in the same manner as campus-based courses. Students may take an online course or two along with their regular campus courses. Our growing list of online degree completion programs offers students throughout the state of New Mexico — and beyond — the opportunity to earn a degree from UNM.  Click here to view the online semester schedule.  To see if you are ready for online classes, take the Online Readiness Quiz.

Correspondence Courses

Correspondence courses offer students a flexible, convenient alternative to earn college credit for those who cannot attend regular classes. In addition, they provide an opportunity for all UNM students located anywhere to add to their credit hours in their degree programs. Lower and upper division courses spanning a wide range of disciplines are available for registration. Many degrees allow, with some restrictions, up to 30 credit hours of correspondence courses to be applied toward graduation.  Only 12 credit hours may be taken in the last 36 hours prior to graduation.  For more information on Correspondence courses, please visit the Correspondence website.
